Hey there everybody, just curious if anyone has made the leap and upgraded to 5 yet. I just bought my 4 upgrade 6 months ago (of course right before they announced 5!) and am curious how the new features are working out with the initial release. Of course I'm also wondering about stability, first releases are basically General Beta's.
I always like to wait for the first bug-fix release to come out, but i'm wondering if it's worth it. I waited a year before upgrading to 4 (i am glad I did, 4 rocks the spot right now!) and am thinkin of jumping to 5 sooner than a year.
what say you folks?

Re: Anybody using Cubase 5 yet? Any reviews?
Wed, June 3, 2009 - 2:36 PMI usually wait until the first bug-fix too, but I had a chance to record using it on my last project and it was pretty phenomenal, especially for a .0 release. I found it to be quite stable and would highly recommend it. I'm going to upgrade my C4 license as soon as I have some cash. -

Thu, June 4, 2009 - 12:20 PMsweet!! Sounds like a winner so far. Think I'll scrap up that $200 for the upgrade now.
If I can only finish the 7 collaboration tracks I have now in 4, i'll be good. I hate changing versions in the middle of projects. I still have occasional issues opening SX3 projects with 4.
Cheers for the quick response, if there are more reviews out there, keep 'em coming!! -

I am still in 4. Like you, I upgraded from sx3 right before they announced 5. Let me know how she sails.

Tue, June 23, 2009 - 11:03 AMholy shit Adam!! had no idea that this was your tribe space, absolutely was a pleasure chillin with you at Gaian Mind Fest. we've been in numerous discussions here in tribe-land, very nice to meet you finally. Plus you had me laughin my ass off before you got on the stage. Great to meet another east-coast smart-ass!
And also, you're set was off-the-chain! Loved hearing you manipulate that Kyma on stage. That was a really nice setup and I would like to trade some wave files soon. i'll add you up on myspace, you can catch mine here www.myspace.com/arahat
Also for everybody else here listening to us ramble on, you can check out a bunch of my original Cubase productions at that myspace link.
I'm getting closer to picking up version 5, just getting through my summer gigs first and finish these tracks in process. I wanna try this new groove machine and then try remixing some stuff with the new Pitch manipulating functions. -

Wed, August 5, 2009 - 6:29 PMYeah!
I heard from Pete Haze (Tetrameth / Shadow FX) that 5 is running really solid for him. I am pretty sure he is running a mac too.
You going to Desiderata? I am playing Saturday night. Maybe see you there!

Thu, August 6, 2009 - 12:38 PMMan I wish I could go to Desiderata, but I just got back from a week-long trip in Tokyo, I'm done with planes for a looooooong time. hehe
Have fun out there.
Glad to hear that 5 is working solid, especially on a Mac! I'm getting closer to having the funds saved up for my upgrade.

Re: Anybody using Cubase 5 yet? Any reviews?
Fri, October 23, 2009 - 11:50 AMI just got it up and running a few days ago and for what I have used so far it has lots of cool new functions that makes doing things faster.
I have not really used any of the new loop maker and stuff but it looks cool and deff was lacking in some of that area.
On audio news lots of people are talking about issues with it...
Some plugs not responding and some of the window sizes will make your sliders on the mixer go invisible.
Lots of weird lil bugs...
I wouldent toss out the sx3 or C4 yet.
